Matholino is a practice platform for primary school. Children practise independently and immediately see whether their answer is correct. Parents and teachers can follow the digital practice progress – at home and at school.

How Matholino works

Choose a topic
A child chooses a practice module or is assigned a suitable topic.

Practise independently
The child works at their own pace and immediately sees whether the answer is correct.

Continue with a suitable exercise
Depending on the practice module, Matholino takes previous answers into account when choosing the next exercises.
Pick a learning goal once – the learning path does the rest
You set a learning goal. From then on each child automatically practises what they need next – round by round, until the target date.

Competencies from the curriculum or a ready-made exam preparation, for example Gymiprüfung or Check P5. Plus the pace and the target date.

The learning path plans every round
After every round the learning path puts together the next tasks – for each child on their own. The child sees one card and presses one button. Everything happens automatically.

You see where each child stands
Each competency shows one of four states: Secure, Developing, Needs a refresh or Not yet practised. You see where to give support.
What the learning path does after every round
- When a practice step is secure, the next one follows.
- When a step is not secure yet, the child keeps practising it.
- When something does not work yet, the learning path goes one step back.
- What was not practised for a while comes back as a short review.
For Lehrplan 21, Plan d’études romand, Piano di studio and the Austrian curriculum. The exercises are linked to selected competencies.
Practice earns rewards
Daily goal and streak
The daily goal shows how much is enough for today. Each daily goal reached adds one day to the streak.
Coins and shop
Coins come from tasks solved on the first try. Save up or spend now? Each child decides, and so practises handling money – a competency in Lehrplan 21, the Swiss-German curriculum.
Badges
Every module has badges to earn. They show what a child can already do.
